Jazzbühne Berlin was a series of concerts organized by the broadcasting corporation of the German Democratic Republic to showcase local and international jazz artists. Several of these performances have been released on the Repertoire label, but are now out of print. On the whole, information about Jazzbühne Berlin is not easy to find. This solo performance by Abdullah Ibrahim is amongst the best documented parts of the series - and the best recording on a technical level.
