BBC Radio 4 produced three radio dramatizations of Sara Paretsky's 'V.I. Warshawski' crime novel.
The first two, 'Deadlock' and 'Killing Orders,' feature Kathleen Turner as V I, with Eleanor Bron as 'Lotty.'
The third, 'Bitter Medicine,' starred Sharon Gless as Warshawski.
'Deadlock,' Warshawksi's second case, involves the huge Great Lakes shipping industry. This time the story revolves around the 'accidental' death of Vic's cousin, Boom-Boom Warshawski, an ex-Black Hawks star who may - or may not - have fallen off of a rain-slicked pier on Chicago's busy waterfront.
Stars Kathleen Turner in the title role.

VI Warshawski suspects that the death of her ice-hockey hero cousin was no mere accident.
02 Down The Hatches
V I Warshawski's dead cousin Boom Boom knew too much about something and his flat is burgled.
03 Bedtime Stories
Somebody wants V I dead and has tampered with her car. But only a few people knew where the car was.
04 Deadlock
VI flies to Canada to continue the investigation on the giant freighter, the Lucella Weisser. But she's in for a shock.
05 Pavane For A Dead Hockey Player
Everyone wants V I off the case, but the next body isn't hers, in fact she thought he was the villain.
06 The Long Goodbye
VI Warshawski uses Clayton Philips' vehicle to get into the hold of the Gertrude Rutton, and ends up swimming for her life. Phillips' body could only have got into the freighter's hold one way and V I uses this information to confront the villain.

Only 'Deadlock' has been turned into a movie, V.I. Warshawski, with Kathleen Turner in the title role. The film, which took many creative liberties with Paretsky's character, was meant as a franchise for Turner, but those plans were scrapped when it was not a commercial success, grossing only $11.1 million domestically.
